OTSN Is Here!

Here's my final report on OTSN 2002. It was another smashing success for sure. I heard many dealers / attendees comment that they had a very good show - which means they: (A) Made some good money, (B) Bought some good items for their collections, (C) Both A and B.

According to many dealers, there isn't a lot of new plastic releases right now, other than Conte and Barzso. Although, Italeri has come out with some new Romans and Gauls (see photos). George Guerriero of Minute Man Toy Soldiers stated that overall, new releases have been rather slow lately. One nice surprise this year, is that the first several hundred attendees were given either a Britains, mounted British figure (sorry don't know anything more about it) or a painted metal Blackbeard the Pirate from Conte. I got Blackbeard. If you can ever make a trip to OTSN you really should - it's a great time. I ran into many collectors / dealers from all over the country and enjoyed spending time with old friends like Bill Berghorn and Rusty Kern and getting to know new friends like Rick Eber and Gary Grim, among others. It's also a great opportunity to talk directly with toy soldiers makers like Ron Barzso, Richard Conte, Toy Knight and others.

I hope you've enjoyed these mini "reports" on the show. I've tried to cover stuff that I think you would be interested in. I believe Rusty plans on covering the show in more detail in Playset Magazine, so . . . on to the photos!
