WWII, when plastics were reintroduced to make car parts (radio pushbuttons,
floormats, etc.) the plastic toy soldier really came into its own. Thanks
to Louis Marx & Co., fathers could now buy their sons whole armies
of soldiers for under a dollar.
1958's
"Battleground" by Marx burst upon the scene with the new 54mm
figure sizes in excellent poses and many new accessories. Shown are Marx GI's. |
