What's so Great about the
Indy Show? |
Dealer: Ron Barzso |
Dealer: Joe Wallis |
March 2: Well the show is only three weeks away and we will have over 130 tables with dealers coming in from Texas, Maryland, D.C. Wisconsin New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Missouri. Of course we are also having dealers in from our neighboring states of Ohio Kentucky, Michigan and Illinois. Indiana has its own representatives of which there are a fair number.
Three of the dealers are from different towns of Alexandria -- Indiana, Ohio and Virginia. You can go to the Vendor List to see who is coming and you can check with me for last minute registrations.

February 27: Four more dealers were just added to the list - bringing the total to 54 with just under 4 weeks until showtime. |
February 20: I just got off the phone with the hotel and they have added more rooms for us but still we are running low for rooms (show rate) for Saturday Evening. So if you will be needing one call soon. I suggest calling on a weekday as you will be conncted directly to the Marriot East in Indianapolis and they'll be able to give you better help for the show weekend. If you call on the weekend your call will get connected to a national switch board and they won't have the latest room availability or information (just what they had on the preceeding Friday).

February 19: "What's so Great about the Indy Show?" by Barry Carter
Recently I have been asked "What's so great about the Indy Toy Soldier Show?" I thought this would be a good place to list a few of the positives.
1.
Easy Access in a big city where there is plenty of shopping, restaurants and other things to do, that's the town. Good enough for a Super Bowl. Hoosier Hospitality!
2.
Indy is one of those shows that many of the dealers enjoy the relaxing atmosphere and profitability of room trading. I just find goodies, see old friends and get to swap stories.
3.
Now the Show: Granted it is not the largest but with 130 tables approx. it is a decent size. I was just looking at the dealer mix and found that we have signed up for this year (so far) -- just two more plastic dealers that metal dealers + three or four dealers in items other than plastic/metal.
We will be having seven manufacturers representing their own products-- and two book dealers. In addition several of the dealers will bring some militaria. To me this is a good mix as, if I can't find what I am looking for in figures (which I always do) I may pick up that reference book that I need or that regimental badge that makes my display more interesting. Sometimes I find that accessory that completes the Diarama.
One more thing that makes this show work for everyone, the personability of the dealers: you can have fun, ask questions and make requests for next year if you don't find it this year.
Pretty good for a small show.
I invite you to come to Indy March 25, 2012 and find out for yourself what makes this a great show..

February 17:
This year one of the new dealers added to our is list, Joe Wallis, author of "Regiments of All Nations" and "Armies of the World." These are two of the greatest reference books that you will ever find on William Britains toy soldiers.
He has released a new, color version of "Regiments of All Nations." Great color, great info --highly recommend to all Britains collectors (and those who just like toy soldiers).
